Ring of Instant Escape

This ring is constructed of thin wires⁠—​gold and black iron⁠—​wound around each other over and over into a nearly solid band.

When activated, and for 1d4 rounds thereafter, a ring of instant escape feels as though it is writhing against the skin, as if the wires were constantly sliding over and through each other.

When you are subject to a harmful effect that allows a Reflex save to reduce or negate it (such as a fireball or a dragon’s breath), you can activate a ring of instant escape to be instantly transported elsewhere, as per dimension door, although the range is limited to 40 feet. This occurs just before the effect resolves, so you are unaffected by it (assuming your destination is outside the area of the effect).

The ring functions only once per day and resets at midnight.

A ring of elusive escape is a rarer and more powerful variant of this ring.

Prerequisites: Forge Ring, dimension door.
