These items appear to be wrist or arm guards. They surround the wearer with an invisible but tangible field of force, granting him an armor bonus of +1 to +8, just as though he were wearing armor. Both bracers must be worn for the magic to be effective. Because this is a force effect, it works against incorporeal touch attacks.

Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, mage armor, creator’s caster level must be at least two times that of the bonus placed in the bracers.
Cost to Create: See table.
This rule was first introduced in the sidebar on page 130 of the version 3.0 publication, the Arms and Equipment Guide, and has been referred to in later version 3.5 publications. It allows characters with the prerequisites listed above as well as the Craft Magic Arms and Armor feat to add armor properties to bracers of armor with the following limitations:
This variant rule is exactly the same as Adding Armor Properties above except the total enhancement bonus is limited to +8, not +13.
For epic level bracers of armor (that is, bracers of armor with an enhancement bonus to AC greater than +8—or an effective bonus of above +13 if the armor properties variant rule is being used), square the total effective bonus and multiply the result by 10,000 gp to obtain the market price. An additional prerequisite, Craft Epic Wondrous Item, is required to make bracers of epic armor.
